Wow super busy station as it is a major hub and I needed to switch trains. It was cleaner than most that I ran into. One of the cool things about the station was the mosaic murals on the walls. I was in a bit of a hurry so I did not spend much time checking them out but cool nevertheless So as a casual user of the MTA system I can imagine that If I had to use it day in day out I may have a different view. The subway is depending on perspective an arduous task OR a fascinating opportunity to test out your directional and navigational skills. The reality is despite all of its downsides it is generally the fastest and cheapest way to roam NYC. Apple maps makes navigating the MTA transit system a breeze.

Do you know what's better about the 59th and Lex station compared to the 53rd and Lex station? Just about nothing. They share few differentiating characteristics.

This is where I transfer for the 6 after taking the R from Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Ave. I like that the station can have connected to the 4 and 5 express trains. I only have to take a flight for stairs to get to the 6 after leaving the R trains compared to the Lexington Ave-53rd St station.
